Students’ Ecological Culture Development in a University’s Educational Environment

We describe the system of students’ ecological culture development using a system of concepts: a general ecoculture of personality – the ecological consciousness of personality – personal ecological culture. The modification of the generated characteristics of ecological culture can occur via two paths. One is direct: through the assimilation of knowledge and skills by the means of specialized environmental courses. The other one is indirect: through the psychological-educational correction by means of a psychology course aimed at the environmental culture development with the socially approved characteristics. The development of the ecological culture was carried out in a pilot course “Psychology” for university students of different specializations. The obtained results suggest the effectiveness of the proposed method for development of ecological culture and allow optimizing the new pedagogical techniques that are being used in psychological education and upbringing of students.
